Taking on this project meant designing a very packed website. The client wanted to have a lot of elements on his page and the challenge was how to present all of these in a single page as cleanly as possible.
The most packed area became the hero section of the page. We wanted to have the most important part of the website above the fold. I also made the "select your vehicle" box stand out a bit more by adding some red highlights and visually lifting over the page by the use of positioning and shadows.

Navigation links poses a special problem and cannot be done horizontally, so categorizing them was the logical thing to do. Inactive tabs also have a darker shade.
For the look, I wanted to have curved edges combined with light gradients for some depth for the top part of the site.
As you scroll along, the site becomes more down-to-business, having less graphical eye candy. To differentiate "featured products" from "featured categories", two styles of presentation where used for the boxes.
