This website has but a few graphics, mostly on the home page. I intentionally wanted the graphics to look rough and a bit unfinished and washed up a bit. One of the first graphics I considered using is the dirty apple.
The apple has a very rough style, and the gradients actually very rough, in fact to produce the effect gradients where not used but several shapes of ascending lightness and descending sizes one on top of the other to create a gradient effect. In the end, this style, and the apple itself did not make the cut.
What made the cut are the cat, the journal, the photo, and the telephone. These images are found insite the house. The cat is something special, because it has a reflection where you can see it smiling, and sticking out its tounge.
Without the reflection, the impression of the creature is very somber but because we can see what the cat's expression is, we can see it is not somber at all!
The graphics outside includes the own and the moon, and like all of the graphics, they are created using our favorite vector editing software - Inkscape. The window will only show a part of the sky without stars but as the user scrolls the home page down, the starts are revealed.
Right now, I am haveing reservations regarding the moon, it seems too shiny compared to the overall look. Perhalps a paler, more washed up version of it would replace the current one in the future. For now, these are DesignSomiac's graphics.
